Growing up in Lāhaina, home was a felt, embodied sense of community– living in a multigenerational, Ilokano household where papang, her grandfather, always had filipino food ready when she got home from school, receiving vegetables from the uncle’s garden down the road, or picking up a spam musubi from aunty at Nagasako Variety Store. She holds with her the importance of taking care of each other, taking care of the ancestors, and taking care of the land.
Motivated by a deep sense of justice and solidarity, Tiffany strives to build a more just and equitable world where people of marginalized communities can live in peace and security, free from violence, oppression and displacement. Tiffany strongly believes this community care, starts at home. As a mother and manang, oldest sister, she strives to create a home environment where emotional connection, play-FULLness, empathy, and mutual respect are at the core of relationships with others and with self.
On her free time, she loves kickboxing, paddle-boarding or being near the ocean, playing basketball with her 7 year old, watching live music, or indulging in REST.
With over a decade of clinical experience, she has worked at different agencies including Ka Hale a Ke Ola Homeless Resource Center, Maui Sexual Assault Center, Maui Youth and Family Services, Asian Counseling and Referral Service, API CHAYA and currently in private practice in Seattle, WA. My activism in the field has centered around housing justice, sexual assault/domestic violence advocacy, and healing racialized trauma within the Filipinx diaspora.
